Evan Magoni is a sound artist and composer exploring the creation of synthetic environments. His music as gonima spans ambient, glitch, and complex rhythm, employing digital textures and bright melodies. A restricted palette of sharp timbres is thrown sparingly at the canvas to highlight negative sonic space.

The gonima project started in 2011 and is based in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Releases have found homes on local labels ygrade and Ancient Robot, and in Germany on Slam City Jams.

gonima's latest work, "Nine Objects Through Open Window" on noted ambient composer Michiru Aoyama's Bullflat3.8 imprint, continues the emotional threads of fragmented beauty established in previous works. The album pursues them in a more subdued manner, slowly unfurling as a collage of melodic ambient washes with occasional rhythmic breaks.
